AESTHETIC CARE POST OPERATION
Post-Operative Care Guidelines for Hair Transplant Surgery
Preventing Swelling:
- Upright Posture: Maintain an upright posture during the day for four days after the surgery to minimize swelling.
- Hydration: Ensure you drink at least 2 liters of water daily to stay adequately hydrated.
Sleeping Position:
- Supine Position: Sleep on your back (supine) for the first five days post-surgery.
- Neck Pillow: Use a neck pillow for support and place a standard pillow under your arms to prevent movement that could impact your head.
Avoiding Blood-Thinning Substances:
- Substance Avoidance: Refrain from consuming alcohol, cigarettes, or any tobacco products for at least ten days after surgery to prevent blood thinning.
Hygiene and Showering:
- Showering: You can shower the day after the operation, but only the body below the neck should be washed.
- Avoid Impact: Be careful not to hit your head while entering or exiting vehicles. Avoid Turkish baths and saunas for 21 days.
Clothing Considerations:
- Avoid T-shirts: Do not wear T-shirts for ten days to prevent contact between the fabric and your head. Opt for shirts instead.
Physical Activity:
- Avoid Strenuous Exercise: Refrain from strenuous activities or exercise for 14 days post-surgery.
Care of Transplanted Area:
- Avoid Scratching: Do not scratch or rub the transplanted area. Follow the prescribed washing regimen for 10 days.
Use of Caps and Hair Styling:
- Caps: Caps may be worn after 10 days.
- Avoid Hair Dryer: Do not use a hair dryer on the transplanted area for 14 days.
- No Hair Dyes: Avoid using hair dyes or bleach for several weeks.
Hair Cutting:
- Hair Trimming: Hair may be trimmed with scissors or clippers three weeks post-surgery.
Expected Post-Operative Effects:
- Normal Excretions: It is normal for blood and fluids to excrete from the donor area on the first night.
Medication Instructions:
- Start Medication: Begin your medication regimen the morning after surgery.
1-4 Days: The Healing Period
- Saline Spray: Use the provided saline spray to protect the incisions, prevent scabbing, and speed up follicle healing.
- Rest: It’s crucial to rest as much as possible during the first few days to aid recovery.
- Avoid Risks: Stay away from swimming, alcohol, smoking, and high-impact exercise.
5-9 Days: Recovery and Rest
- Gently Washing the Scalp: Around five days post-surgery, you can begin gently washing your scalp, but avoid using shampoo.
- Avoid High-Impact Activities: Continue to avoid high-impact exercise to allow full healing of the follicles.
10-14 Days: Returning to Your Haircare Routine
- Healing: By this point, your scalp may still appear pink and scabbed, especially for those with pale skin. This is normal and typically resolves within 10-14 days.
- Hair Falling Out: Your transplanted hair will fall out, which is part of the process before new hair begins to grow.
- Shampoo: Resume washing your hair with mild shampoo. Follow the method of mixing shampoo with tepid water and gently rinsing the transplanted and donor areas.
3-6 Months: Hair Growth Phase
- Natural Hair Growth: After your incisions heal, natural hair growth will gradually resume.
- Check-Ups: Attend check-up appointments at 3 months and 6 months to monitor progress.
10 Months: Hair Regained
- Full Hair Growth: By the 10-month mark, most patients will have achieved full, healthy hair growth, and a trim may be needed to even out the length.
12 Months: Final Check-Up and Feedback
- Final Review: One year after your surgery, you will have a final check-up to assess your hairline and overall results.
- Feedback: Provide feedback on the procedure and staff at this stage.
This comprehensive aftercare program ensures a smooth recovery and optimal hair growth results.
